Background: The MK. Cargo is a heavy-duty interstellar transport vessel developed during the expansion era of the Markarian trade routes. Manufactured by the powerful shipbuilding conglomerate Ro-Tide Ship Yards, the MK. Cargo line was designed to solve one core problem: moving massive volumes of goods safely through unstable, long-range space lanes. Originally commissioned by the Markarian Trade Coalition, the MK. Cargo quickly became the backbone of galactic distance logistics. Its reputation for durability made it a favorite not only among corporations but also among independent haulers and black-market operators.

Cargo function like a space train, dropping off sections without docking the full vessel with adaptive gravity bays. Each cargo module can independently adjust gravity conditions, enabling transport of raw minerals, living organisms, volatile energy cores, zero-G sensitive tech. Autonomous Navigation AI: An onboard AI system designed to calculate safe routes through unstable warp zones and pirate-heavy sectors and can operate the ship with minimal human oversight. MK. Cargo is not a warship, but heavily fortified with electromagnetic pulse shielding, decoy cargo pods (used to evade piracy) limited turret defense (primarily deterrent-level) and dockless transfer capability. Equipped with long-range magnetic tether systems, allowing cargo transfer between ships in open space without docking in dangerous restricted zones.
Utilization: MK. Cargo is mainly for interstellar trade routes, colony resupply missions, and industrial transport (mining, construction materials). Secondary Uses: Military logistics support (non-combat zones), evacuation vessel (large-scale civilian transport in emergencies), and mobile storage hub for frontier systems. Due to its size and modularity, the MK. Cargo is often modified for smuggling operations, hidden compartments for illegal biotech or cybernetics, and ghost shipping (unregistered cargo runs).
